At the end of 2023, ABO DEMAN S.A. successfully completed the manufacturing and delivery of 16 water-carrying firefighting vehicles (RIVs) based on the Isuzu D-Max, each equipped with an autonomous firefighting unit, which have now been integrated into the fleet of the Ionian Islands Region.
The supply was carried out under Subproject (10) “Procurement of Support Vehicles for the Management of Natural Hazards”, part of the wider initiative “LAERTES – Innovative Operational System for Natural Hazard Management in the Ionian Islands Region.”
The water-carrying vehicles were distributed across all municipalities of the Ionian Islands Region, with the purpose of strengthening operational capabilities in the areas of prevention and response to natural hazards, as well as the management of emergency situations. Specifically, they were allocated to Corfu, the Diapontia Islands, Paxos, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Lefkada, Meganisi, and Zakynthos, covering the entire geographical scope of the Region.
Through this project, ABO DEMAN reaffirms its strategic role in the manufacturing of highly reliable firefighting and specialized vehicles, actively contributing to the enhancement of Greece’s civil protection mechanisms.
